Lightweight conveyor belts and heavy conveyor belts

Conveyor belt is an important equipment required for industrial production. In addition to transporting materials more conveniently, it can also save manpower and improve work efficiency. Conveyor belts can also be divided into two types, light conveyor belts and heavy conveyor belts, according to their usage and load capacity. The differences between the two belts are detailed below.

1. Different load capacity

Light conveyor belts are mainly used to transport relatively light materials, and their load capacity is usually below 1,000 tons per hour. They can be used in production line handling of light materials, warehouse materials handling, packaging line transportation and other occasions. The heavy-duty conveyor belt refers to the conveyor belt with a tonnage of 1,000 tons and above and a large load capacity. It is usually widely used in the transportation of large quantities of materials and sundries in ports, coal mines, steel, cement and other industries.

2. Different structure

The structure of the light conveyor belt is relatively simple, and it usually consists of several parts such as a belt body, a driving pulley, a steering pulley, a guide pulley, and a tension device. The heavy-duty conveyor belt requires a more complicated structural design, which is composed of multiple components such as a belt body, a driving device, an idler roller, a tensioning device, a recovery device, a reducer, and a support frame. The complex structure allows heavy-duty conveyor belts to carry greater loads and meet various operational needs.

3. The production process is different

Since the loads of the two conveyor belts are different, the production processes are also different. The production of light conveyor belt is relatively simple and the production cycle is short. It is often produced by pump injection molding or extrusion molding. However, the production process of heavy-duty conveyor belts is complex, requiring multiple production links such as design, smelting, casting, forging, etc., so the production cycle is relatively long.

4. Different effects

There are also differences in the use effect of light conveyor belts and heavy conveyor belts. The light conveyor belt is suitable for small logistics occasions, and the transportation efficiency is relatively high, but its carrying capacity is small, so it is only suitable for the transportation of lightweight items. The effect of the heavy-duty conveyor belt is more obvious. It has an extremely strong carrying capacity and plays an irreplaceable role in industrial production, which can greatly improve work efficiency and reduce labor waste.
